Private deployment

LegalJarvis: a private research and drafting assistant for lawyers

LegalJarvis reads your own documents, such as judgments, pleadings, contracts and notes, and answers questions with the passages it relied on. It drafts first versions, takes voice commands and keeps everything on your own computer, so client files never go to a public AI service.

How it works

  1. Add your files

Point it at a folder of PDFs and documents. It builds a private, searchable index on your machine.

  2. Ask in plain language

Type or speak a question. Answers come from your own material, with the sources shown.

  3. Draft and refine

Ask for a first draft of a notice, letter or summary, then edit it with follow-up instructions.

  4. Verify and file

You check every citation before relying on it. LegalJarvis is a research aid, not legal advice.

What it can do

Search your own corpus

Semantic search across your case files and research, which finds meaning rather than just matching words.

Answers with sources

Every answer points to the passages it used, so you can check them in seconds.

Voice assistant

Hands-free: open or read out a document, dictate a letter, or ask a quick question.

Remembers context

Local memory keeps track of matters and preferences across sessions, stored on your machine.

Gmail & Calendar

Optional Google sign-in to draft emails and see hearings and meetings in one place.

Web search when you ask

Looks things up online only when you allow it for that question, never automatically.

Designed for confidentiality

Client files are the last thing that should be uploaded to someone else's AI. LegalJarvis runs its language model, memory and search index on your own computer, using a laptop or desktop with a modern NVIDIA GPU.

Even premium legal AI tools get citations wrong. Treat every output as a draft and verify citations before you rely on them.

Good fit for

  • Advocates and small law firms
  • In-house legal and compliance teams
  • Law students and researchers
  • Anyone handling confidential documents daily

What a working day with LegalJarvis looks like

Before a hearing

"Summarise the last three orders in this matter." It answers from your files and shows the passages it used.

Drafting

"Draft a reply to this legal notice." You get a first version, then refine it with follow-up instructions.

Research

"Which of our judgments discuss anticipatory bail?" Semantic search finds them even when the words differ.

Hands-free

Dictate a letter or ask a quick question by voice while you work on something else.

A Stanford study found that even leading legal AI tools gave wrong or made-up answers to more than 1 in 6 test questions (Stanford HAI, 2024). LegalJarvis shows its sources for this reason, so checking takes seconds.

"The Lexis+ AI and Ask Practical Law AI systems produced incorrect information more than 17% of the time, while Westlaw's AI-Assisted Research hallucinated more than 34% of the time."

LegalJarvis questions

Does LegalJarvis send my files to the cloud?

No. The AI model, the search index and the memory all run on your own computer. Web search is used only when you allow it for a question.

Can I rely on its citations?

Treat them as leads to check. LegalJarvis shows its sources so verification is quick, but a qualified person must confirm every citation.

What hardware does it need?

A Windows laptop or desktop with an NVIDIA GPU (8 GB or more) works well. We help with setup.

Is LegalJarvis a replacement for a lawyer?

No. It is a research and drafting aid. A qualified person must review every answer and draft.
